Law Enforcement Jiu Jitsu Trainings

TCOLE Certified Academy

AHTXBJJ is a proud supporter of our local law enforcement. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has not only tactical and physical benefits, but mental and emotional ones as well for all officers.

Tactically, BJJ is the perfect art for a police officer. It teaches you how to take down and control a person while giving you options to escalate or deescalate force as needed.

Alliance BJJ Houston located on the border of Pearland, SouthBelt and Houston of beltway 8 is a license TCOLE Academy and teaches a certified TCOLE Class specifically for Law Enforcement Officers.

Mentally and emotionally

regularly training BJJ can give you a sense of confidence that can help you to deter or deescalate some situations. BJJ for many people is also a place to destress and decompress from the day-to-day stressors. The added benefit is that this hobby also reinforces on-the-job survival skills for LEOs.

As an officer, if you train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with AHTXBJJ Academy, you will experience the benefits of combat effectiveness, stress relief, comfort in stressful situations, as well as health & fitness.

License TCOLE Class

Every couple of months we host a certified TCOLE class that gives you TCOLE credits. There is a class limit so make sure you sign up as soon as it's scheduled.

Required Training for all LEO's

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a martial art that fundamentally allows both the Officer and subject, if a struggle were to ensue, to come out of the situation with the least amount of physical harm to all involved. Physically, it is some of the best fitness training you can put yourself through, specifically for the job of a LEO. There is nothing quite as exhausting as grappling with someone bigger and stronger than you. The best way to build endurance for that task is to actually do the task itself, which is what we do in every class at AHTXBJJ .

Self Defense

Not all Jiu Jitsu academies are the same, some focus just on tournaments and other Self Defense. Alliance BJJ Houston starts with Self Defense in our MOD 1 then moves into tournament style techniques in later levels. Our Blue Belt test are focused on Self Defense first!

Increase Safety During Physical Encounters

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health published an article in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine to better define and understand the full spectrum of injuries that officers sustain while interacting, arresting, detaining, or pursuing suspects. These injuries were termed “resistance-related” injuries.

Why should LEO's train Jiu Jitsu?

40% reduction in LEO injuries, 53% in prevention of suspect injuries and non BJJ trained LEO's are 200% more likely to injure a suspect

I work long hours, when can I train?

We have classes from 5am all the way to 8pm plus we have showers!!

How can I afford it, do you offer discounts?

Yes all first responders get 10% off plus we are part of the adopt a cop organization. https://adoptacopbjj.org/<br /> Plus as a department of 145 Leo's they saved over 70K a year in workman's comp cost from their BJJ trained officers.

Can I use all your techniques on the job?

This is a difficult question to answer due to different state laws and the situation at hand. Please refer to your unit for their requirements. We do know that officers that train in BJJ are 60% less likely to engage in use of force.
